BIO

OOC Information:
name: Alison
age: 45
rp experience: Five and a half years on LJ playing the same three games, one of which is still semi-active. New game (two months old) on IJ, set in a fictional British university. There are incarnations of Martine in all of them.
screen name: [info]tulliver
time zone: GMT

IC Information:
character's given name: Martine Véronique Brereton
character's alias: Martine, Marti
character's pb: Winona Ryder
journal link: http://dd-martine.insanejournal.com/
age: 25
date of birth: 10th September 2057
marital status: Single
sexual orientation: Straight
political affiliation: Very much anti-establishment
social order: Spades
brief character history: Martine's the middle child of three. She has an older brother, Etienne, and a younger sister, Davina. Her mother, Véronique, is of French descent while her father, Stephen, has his roots in the north of England in Cheshire. She's highly intelligent with a particular love of history, and she and her siblings had the best home teachers money and influence could provide.

Both of her parents are highly in favour with the Candidacy and, as such, live in considerable luxury. This is mainly thanks to Martine's father's gift with money and creative accountancy.

Martine, however, grew bored with her lifestyle and decided she needed to "see how the other half lives". Two years previously she left home without a word and simply walked towards the south. At the time it seemed a perfectly reasonable course of action but now she's caught between horrified disbelief and self-deprecating laughter that she wasn't simply shot within half an hour. Luckily for her, she picked the right route and found herself "adopted" by the underground after a short but very awkward period of time. Stephen Brereton's daughter's face was hardly unknown after all. Some might still question her allegiances, more than a few still don't trust her as far as they can spit. She doesn't like it but she understands why.

Her knowledge of the routines and habits of the City's inhabitants have proven useful in the past, but even more helpful is her unexpected aptitude for firearms - and the fact that, since she's small (5'2") and very slim, she can pass for considerably younger than her 25 years. She's actually not happy about this since she feels people take her less than seriously, but the big picture is that she IS useful and she just keeps telling herself that.

personality: Martine is highly educated and will share that knowledge with very little prompting. She's fairly hot-tempered, especially if anyone talks down to her, but she gets over it as quickly as she loses it. She's friendly and her social upbringing makes her a good hostess. However, her friendly demeanour does not necessarily mean she likes a person. She does not trust readily, but she feels that's a necessary cultivation.

Samples:
RP sample: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/the_quarantined/9596.html This is taken from the same game as the journal sample below. I showed you a dialogue style RP for Ben's application, and this one's just to show you I can do 3rd party story-style RP as well. I confess my preferred style is the dialogue, "asterisk" style, but I'm more than happy to do it either way.
Journal sample: http://long-time-dead.insanejournal.com/1240.html For a short while earlier this year, I was involved in an IJ post-apocalyptic game. It didn't last too long, which was a shame, but this is one of THAT Martine's journal entries which is in the form of a letter to her parents and siblings.
